Botanical Print No. 78
Create a unique display on your bridal bouquet with botanical print ribbons.
Marigolds, grown from our gardens are rolled into the silk and steamed to create an array of botanical prints. After the markings are created, the silk returns to a dye bath of marigolds to create a yellow base hue which is altered to green with a bit of alchemy. Next, the silk is washed and prepared for a dip-dye into our dye bath of lac, imparting a deep saturated "cranberry-pink" overlay and a swirl of color.
While all ribbons come from the same dye bath, the differences between each ribbon can be quite drastic. The amount of "cranberry-pink" on each ribbon can vary from a few markings to dominating the palette. See images for a range of possible botanical prints.
Each ribbon is unique and markings vary on each ribbon.
A unique adornment for your custom bridal bouquet.
Plant Dyes are more subtle and complex than those created by synthetic dyes. You are purchasing a "living color" that is unique and one-of-a-kind. While each lot of color is dyed in the same manner, with the same plant materials, slight variations & unique characteristics will make each ribbon special. Each ribbon is wound on a antique style wooden spool. 100% Habutai Silk Bias Ribbon. Silk weight 12mm.
