Chocolate {Gossamer} Silk Ribbon

Chocolate is a brown hue, but the light airiness of the "gossamer" ribbon creates a transparent layer of this earthy color. "Chocolate" works well with many palettes, as it grounds your bold flowers, making the colors "pop" but also adds a soft accent to creamy champagne, chocolate, rose, and burgundy blooms.

Created from silk cocoons sustainably gathered from deep within a protected forest. Artisans, rich in the craft of hand-looming, have created this material with skill and tradition that has been passed down for hundreds of years.

This lightweight silk ribbon has a texture that allows it to hold its shape. It is a transparent weave with a slightly rough texture which is super light and airy. This ribbon will take flight with the slightest breeze! The edges are cut clean, but are delicate and can be easily frayed for a soft feathery feel. This ribbon is bias cut to create a natural flow and drape. Due to the flexible nature of the bias cut, the width can appear thinner when pulled tight. Each ribbon is wound on a antique style wooden spool. 100% Organic "Gossamer" silk. Ahimsa, "peace silk".

Throughout the dyeing process, our ribbons are cooked in color and washed several times to ensure colorfastness. While hand washing is possible, due to the delicate nature of the material it is not recommended to maintain it's original texture. If needed, hand wash in lukewarm water with mild pH neutral soap, plant dyes are "living" color that can be shifted by chemicals and drastic changes in pH. Hang to dry. Iron on medium heat on the back side of the fabric.
