Botanical Print No. 81
A fairytale pink hue created from a dye bath of Brazilwood (sustainably re-claimed wood, of course!) is the base hue, and shades of yellow gold flowers are sprinkled throughout. The vibrancy of this ribbon is stronger in person.
Our gardens are abundant with fresh blooms which are gathered and used fresh to create this new botanical print ribbon. This limited-time, where we can use fresh blooms, creates strikingly beautiful ribbons. Dyers Chamomile is the main flower throughout, and a few marigolds and coreopsis can be found as well.
Flowers are rolled into the silk and steamed to create an array of botanical prints.
While all ribbons are created the same, the differences between each ribbon can be quite drastic. The number of markings on each ribbon can vary, and while it is mostly a yellow palette of flower markings, a few may contain an orange coreopsis flower. See images for a range of possible botanical prints.
Each ribbon is unique and markings vary on each ribbon.
A unique adornment for your custom bridal bouquet.
Plant Dyes are more subtle and complex than those created by synthetic dyes. You are purchasing a "living color" that is unique and one-of-a-kind. While each lot of color is dyed in the same manner, with the same plant materials, slight variations & unique characteristics will make each ribbon special. Each ribbon is wound on a antique style wooden spool. 100% Habutai Silk Bias Ribbon. Silk weight 12mm.
Our habutai silk ribbons are washable and reusable! Machine wash separately gentle cycle/cold, or hand wash. Use mild pH neutral soap, plant dyes are "living" color that can be shifted by chemicals and drastic changes in pH. Tumble dry on low or hang to dry. Iron when just barely damp on medium heat on the back side of the fabric.
