One last chance with this beauty brought back from our private collection.

This enchanting ribbon is created with multiple steps, taking days to create. First, the ribbon is dyed with purple corn, creating a soft "french blue" hue. Next, a resist method is used to block areas of the silk, so that after dip-dyeing in our organic indigo dye pot a marbling of blue hues emerges. Finally, hollyhock, marigolds, and delphinium flowers are rolled into the silk to create their marking.

This ribbon is created using the "direct contact" dyeing method where dried flowers are rolled into the silk, then steamed for hours to make a lasting imprint. This dyeing method creates a truly unique ribbon where each and every ribbon is one-of-a-kind.

Markings vary and each ribbon is one-of-a-kind!

Plant Dyes are more subtle and complex than those created by synthetic dyes. You are purchasing a "living color" that is unique and one-of-a-kind. While each lot of color is dyed in the same manner, with the same plant materials, slight variations & unique characteristics will make each ribbon special. Each ribbon is wound on a antique style wooden spool. 100% Habutai Silk Bias Ribbon. Silk weight 12mm.

Our habutai silk ribbons are washable and reusable! Machine wash separately gentle cycle/cold, or hand wash. Use mild pH neutral soap, plant dyes are "living" color that can be shifted by chemicals and drastic changes in pH. Tumble dry on low or hang to dry.
