Botanical Print No. 58
BOTANICAL PRINT No. 58 is created using dried and fresh coreopsis flowers harvested from our garden. We use a "direct contact" dyeing method where the flowers are rolled into the silk and steamed for hours. The ribbons are then dyed in a dye bath of coreopsis flowers to create an overall hue of ginger, followed by quick dips in an iron rinse to create a marbling of ginger and copper hues.
Botanical Print no. 58 is a marbled ribbon varying in tones from light ginger, to darker coppery brown hues.
NEW 0.75 inch ribbon added! Perfect for fall festivities; wrapping invites and menus, tying gift bags, or wrapping flatware.
The feel is modern-vintage with a hint of bohemian vibes.
Each ribbon is one-of-a-kind and truly unique.
Plant Dyes are more subtle and complex than those created by synthetic dyes. You are purchasing a "living color" that is unique and one-of-a-kind. While each lot of color is dyed in the same manner, with the same plant materials, slight variations & unique characteristics will make each ribbon special. Each ribbon is wound on a antique style wooden spool. 100% Habutai Silk Bias Ribbon. Silk weight 12mm.
Our habutai silk ribbons are washable and reusable! Machine wash separately gentle cycle/cold, or hand wash. Use mild pH neutral soap, plant dyes are "living" color that can be shifted by chemicals and drastic changes in pH. Tumble dry on low or hang to dry. Iron when just barely damp on medium heat on the back side of the fabric.
