Description

BOTANICAL PRINT No. 75 is a lavender-pink base hue dyed with Brazilwood, sustainably gathered as a byproduct from violin making. Dried tulips, rose petals, and a few delphiniums sprinkled through creating an array of botanical patterns. Some of the markings are bold, and others are more muted and subtle.

The overall feeling is of a Monet impressionist painting.

We use a "direct contact" dyeing method, where the flowers are rolled into the silk and steamed for hours. The flower markings vary on each ribbon, no two are alike! See the images to explore the range of possibilities.

Each ribbon is a work of art. Use to wrap special gifts or adorn your flower bouquets. Adding plant-dyed silks to your flower bouquets is a beautiful addition to your Sustainable Floresty mission.

Details

Plant Dyes are more subtle and complex than those created by synthetic dyes. You are purchasing a "living color" that is unique and one-of-a-kind. While each lot of color is dyed in the same manner, with the same plant materials, slight variations & unique characteristics will make each ribbon special. Each ribbon is wound on a antique style wooden spool. 100% Habutai Silk Bias Ribbon. Silk weight 12mm.
