Botanical Print {Sage-Blue} | 35 x 35" 100% Silk Scarf

$ 142.00

ORIGINAL BOTANICAL PRINT, HAND-DYED SILK SCARF

Color and beauty are difficult to describe with words. The base hue of this moody silk scarf is a sage blue created from dandelions. Depending on the lighting, the light sage hue shifts to a blue-gray, making it uniquely mysterious. The artfully placed botanicals, marigolds, "flame of the forest," and butterfly pea flowers intertwine and blend into colorful patterns unlike any other.

For centuries the humble dandelion, along with the "flame of the forest", butterfly pea flowers, and marigolds, have been revered for their medicinal qualities - infusing these powers into this unique piece blends ancient botanicals into a chic accessory that is truly one-of-a-kind.

Each scarf comes in a handmade 100% silk organza bag, ready for gifting.

Botanical prints will vary on each scarf. Each scarf is a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork hand-dyed by textile artist Shellie Pomeroy.

Machine hemmed.

Use our naturally dyed silk scarf as a neck accessory, hair wrap, or summer top. Check out the Hermès website for inspiration on how to wear silk scarves.

CARE / Hand washing is preferred, but you can wash in the machine alone or in a mesh bag. Be sure to use chemical-free, pH-neutral laundry soap (we use Seventh Generation), as harsh chemical detergents can alter natural hues. Wash on a cold and gentle cycle.
Keep your silk scarf looking its best longer by paying attention to how you dry it! After washing, delicately squeeze out water without twisting or wringing. To absorb remaining moisture, roll it in a towel and press out extra water, then lay it flat or hang it to dry for optimal results; alternatively, putting it on low heat setting in the dryer will quickly dry your silk- just be sure not to over-dry as shrinkage may occur. For perfect drying each time, try tumbling on low heat, 10 minutes at a time, checking every interval until it's just done - this will avoid wrinkles with no need for ironing afterward! If ironing is needed, use the silk setting on your iron or medium heat and iron on the back side of the silk (the side with the Silk & Willow logo).
Note / Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can fade botanical hues. Embrace this quality and a natural process, and don't let this stop you from enjoying your scarf to the fullest.
