Care and consideration go into sourcing and creating each product we carry. From beginning to end, our goal is to tread lightly on our beautiful planet.

We are students of sustainability.

Our collective everyday choices make a global impact on our planet. So we work daily to learn and improve in any way we can. We make easy decisions like choosing only 100% recycled, post-consumer recycled, and FSC certified papers and packaging. And we make more challenging decisions, such as using only FSC certified wood for our custom ribbon spools and continuing the labor-intensive process of hand buffing each wooden spool to avoid toxic wood finishes.

We select products that are crafted with care and attention to environmental concerns. For example, our handmade papers are crafted from repurposed remnants from cotton T-shirts cuttings, and no chlorine or chemicals are used in the production process; this allows the runoff water to be re-used for watering neighboring gardens. Our hair scrunchies are 100% plastic-free! We use natural rubber elastic, this sustainable option is crafted from 65% organic cotton and 35% natural rubber, and ours is GOTS certified (license number CERES-074). And, since year two, all of our cotton textiles are naturally dyed Khadi Cotton, hand-loomed using traditional weaving methods.

Natural color is our mantra

Our designer hues come from nature; we extract color from roots, foliage, nuts, berries, and flowers, to name a few of the many natural sources. We organically grow and forage many of our dye materials locally in the Hudson Valley of New York. If not grown locally, our dye materials are sustainably sourced with GOTS Certification from within the United States and abroad.
